Bizi-buddies
A visit to them is a smile guaranteed.
How is Elvis?
The Bizi-Buddies
Elvis (3 yr old miniature Shetland stallion.)
He may be just 29 inches tall, but he has a massive character! Elvis has paraded at many international show jumping grand prix and numerous other shows. He’s also a media star, appearing on the front cover of national newspapers, and photographed with some very famous people, including the world renowned “Devils Horsemen”. Famed for his much loved, but naughty behaviour, he has a huge following wherever he goes. He is so playful and just loves his adoring public. He is currently stabled and is as mischievous as a box of monkeys. Roll on the spring!
Dolly (14 year old 16.2hh half bred mare.)
Dolly is here on loan for pleasure hacking when I get the chance. Much as she is quiet in the paddock and |I can even use her for lessons, she turns into a racehorse when you take her out and about. She is great fun though. Elvis is just besotted with her.
Izzi Crackers (2 yr old miniature Tanmar Wallaby)
Izzi Crackers is a complete star! Adorable, cute, endearing, and he has a massive fan club. Taking Izzi for a walk on his lead normally lasts for half a day. He’s like the Pied Piper of children, but also appeals to adults. People are gobsmacked to see a miniature kangaroo happily hopping along, and investigating everything! He loves attention, and already has numerous TV and photo shoots booking for this year. The second he realises he’s in front of a camera, he turns on the charm. Since he’s no longer a baby, he’s too heavy to carry around when he gets tired, so for Christmas he received an animal pram to be chauffeured around in! He’s best friends with Bizi Bella, and their comedy antics are hilarious.
Bizi Bella
Bizi Bella is the most affectionate little black cat, with four cute white paws. She didn’t have the best start in life, but is now spoilt rotten. As cute as she is playful, she doesn’t want to miss out on the fun and games all the other Bizi Buddies have at shows. She particularly loves the Bizi Buddies tour bus, the only downside being that she insists on sitting in the centre of the steering wheel! I can’t turn a corner without fits of laughter and some very strange looks from passing traffic. You couldn’t train a cat to behave like Bella. She’s so chilled and very happy to be with her human “mummy”. She loves to participate in all manner of non-catlike behaviour: from riding pillion passenger in Izzi’s pram, to merrily playing with the chinchillas.
Bizi-Bubba 6 yr old grey tabby cat
I am delighted to say that Bubba is back! When we moved premises in June 2008, I was so upset when he went missing. In December 08, after his little “holiday”, he turned up 3 miles away from home at a local riding stables. I was ecstatically happy! He’s such a lovely marked cat, and is so affectionate…but normally just with me. Unlike the other Bizi Buddies he doesn’t try to hog the limelight. He’s generally happier living outside, in his cosy bunker, and watching the world go by and exploring. He really loves Elvis, and ever since Bubba returned, he’s spent as much time as he can playing with Elvis.
Marti Valentine (Marti is an 8yr old Hampshire down cross)
Marti Valentine is my Labrador in sheep’s clothing! Marti and Ding are inseparable. He’s now getting on a little in years, and won't be making as many show appearances in 2009, although he still really enjoys playing football with the children. The four day shows often take a lot out of him, so I am restricting him to two day shows this season. Plans are afoot to increase my little “flock” to four so that while two of the team are at shows, Marti isn’t left at home on his own without a pal to play with. He is a total children magnet, but recently got himself into a spot of bother at “The Family Show” at the RDS. When he discovered that the Nestle stand had tasty Cheerios (one of his favourite treats), he kept breaking out of his pen and racing through the Shelbourne Hall straight to them! The very kind people at Nestle gave him four whole cases of Cheerios to bring home and he’s steadily munching his way through them.
My Ding-A-Ling Ding (1yr old Dutch Zwartble Sheep)
Ding is fantastic! A real character and very easy going. He’s Marti’s young apprentice in making mischief. As well as being playful, he’s also a model! He recently took to the catwalk, strutting his stuff, and he loved it so much that he had to be trailed off it! He’s such a show off! But he has brains to go with his beauty & athleticism: he’s been practising, and getting quite good, at dog agility courses.
Mocha and Latte (9 month old coffee coloured Dwarf Lop Eared rabbits.)
Proper little bundles of fluff, Mocha and Latte are nine month old, coffee coloured, Dwarf Lop Eared rabbits. Don't be fooled by their 'butter wouldn't melt’ expressions: they run around shredding anything they can get their sharp little teeth into! Whilst Izzi is great with them, and they like each others company, Bella is more interested in trying to eat them for breakfast! The Bizi-Bunnies have also been on the catwalk wearing this seasons pet bandanas. Very cool!
Chip & Dale (7 month old, breeding pair of Chipmunks)
This mischievous pair have turned out to be total entertainment. They have their own special house (a “Chipmonastery”) and amuse me endlessly with their demanding displays for attention. They try everything, from gymnastic routines, to tutting loudly and throwing things at me! Chip loves to sleep at the minute (partial hibernation) while Dale is too excited to sleep and spends most of the day devising cunning plans to get me to give him treats. He adores pine nuts and banana chips, and if he gets a taste of one early in the day then he just tortures me for more. Chip is a now a racing driver, and has his own little car….yes car…complete with a little racetrack. It has to be seen to be believed!
Smokie & The Bandit (18 month old breeding pair of Chinchillas
Smokie is a dizzy wee thing and Bandit is just too clever for his own good. For Christmas, I bought them a giant exercise ball, which they love! Smokie is happy just trundling around in it, but Bandit has perfected the art of opening the little entry door and merrily racing around the house on his own. They have the most incredibly tactile fur and make a huge range of noises from cackling to barking! They haven’t made their show debut yet, but I’m certain they’ll go down a storm.
The Sugar Babes (Keisha, Heidi and Amelle – 1 yr old Guinea Pigs)
BiziBuddies newest stars, the BiziBabes are little divas and extremely curious about everything. Needless to say, Bella has already added them to her preferred menu list, whilst Izzi just thinks they are his new friends to play with. They’re still settling in, but are already quite hand tame. I have a feeling that they will fit right in to the Bizi-Buddie team!
Miss Bizi-Lizzie (8 week old Miniature Yorkshire Terrier & Toy Pomeranian Terrier Cross.)
Missy is just mischief with a pulse. My biggest problem is remembering she is there because she is so tiny and you can’t here her walking behind you. I have trodden on her a couple of times already. She seems fascinated with the other Bizi-buddies and particularly so with Humpty.
Humpty (7 month old African Pygmy Hedgehog.)
Now this is a challenge. Humpty has not been handled at all and is taking some persuading that the world is not totally out to get him. He huffs and puffs like a train and his little spikes are so sharp when you lift him. I have researched them though and it would seem that they do actually make great pets and like being handled. Bella just thinks he is a ball with a design fault.
